Man charged with wounding

A 22-year-old Margate man has been charged with wounding with intent following an incident in the town on Sunday which has resulted in another man suffering serious head injuries.

James Sharpe, from Belgrave Road, was charged on Tuesday.

A 17-year-old man from Ramsgate and a 22-year-old man from Margate are on bail pending further inquiries. They are due to report back at Margate police station on July 22.

Police say the injured man remains in a critical but stable condition in a London hospital.
