A man has died after a car crash near Ashford this morning.

The man, who is understood to be in his 60s, was pronouced dead after the Citreon Xsara he was driving hit a tree in High Halden.

No other vehicle was involved in the crash, in Plurenden Road.

Kent Police was called at about 10.40am and officers attended with other emergency services.
