Man dies in A21 crash near Bewl Water

A man has died and three others have been hurt in a car crash in west Kent.

A Honda and a Porsche collided on the A21 near Bewl Water reservoir at around 7.50pm yesterday.

The Honda driver, a 25-year-old from Ticehurst, East Sussex, died from his injuries.

Firefighters had used hydraulic cutting equipment to free him from the car.

Two children had to be rescued from the Porsche after it caught fire shortly after the crash, although they suffered only minor injuries.

Their mother was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury with more serious injuries. Her condition is described as stable.

The A21 was closed between 8.30pm and 3.30am this morning while emergency crews worked at the scene.
