Man faces murder bid charge

An unemployed man has been accused of attempted murder following a stabbing in a Kent town.

William Wilson, 28, from St Leonard's on Sea in Sussex, was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday.

The attack took place at the junction of London Road and Tower Hamlets Road in Dover on July 31.

The victim - 24-year-old Michael Brankley, from Dover - underwent extensive surgery for his injuries from which he is still recovering.

Wilson, originally from Glasgow but living in Dover at the time of the attack, was remanded in custody when he appeared at Dover Magistrates' Court on Friday.

He will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on November 24 for a plea and direction hearing.
