A 36-year-old man has been charged with raping a woman eight years ago.
The man, Wayne Adams, of Lyminge Close, Gillingham, was due to appear before Medway magistrates today.
The woman was walking along Edwin Road, Rainham, on Sunday, August 11, in 1996, when she was attacked.
