A man in his 20s has died after falling from a bridge on the A249 at Bobbing this afternoon.

Paramedics tried to resuscitate the man who had fallen from the bridge shortly after 3.40pm, but were unable to revive him.

Police closed the A249 Sittingbourne bound at Bobbing Bridge and the nearby slip road onto the A249. The Maidstone bound carriageway was open during rush hour, but traffic was said to be very congested.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area.
