A YOUNG man rescued from a car after it went up in flames and crashed into the wall of a house is still in a serious condition in hospital.
The incident happened on the A21 between Lamberhurst and Kippings Cross on Saturday afternoon.
The blue Ford Escort was travelling towards Tunbridge Wells when it left the carriageway. The man, in his 20s and from Hastings, was initially taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells.
He has since been transferred to a hospital in London where his condition is described as serious.
The road was closed while emergency services attended the incident. The road reopened shortly before 7.40am.
Kent Police Serious Collision Unit are appealing for information about the incident and would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision or saw the car travelling on the A21 before the incident happened.
