Man held in custody on robbery charges

A MAN has appeared in court charged with a string of bank robberies.

Victor Iniodu, 32, of Bekesbourne Tower, Wichling Close, Orpington, was remanded in custody alongside six other men at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court.

They are accused of raiding banks across the south of England.

As well as seven charges of armed robbery, they face 13 robbery charges and one of attempted robbery.

The alleged offences were committed between November 2005 and September this year.

The other defendants, all from south London, are Terry Wallace, 25, Brian Henry, 31, Leon McKenzie, 27, Adrian Johnson aka Kurtis Mason, 27, Leroy Hall, 31, and Leroy Wilkinson, 29.

The 15 banks involved were in London, Essex, Surrey, Ipswich, Bristol, Gloucestershire, Oxford, Reading, Cambridgeshire and Winchester.

The men are next due before Kingston Crown Court on December 4.
