A man was injured in the eye when a machete was thrown at his car.
The driver was hurt as the weapon was hurled during a fight in the Folkestone Harbour area - before bouncing off the shattered windscreen and landing near an elderly couple.
It is reported the dispute between people known to each other broke out in the Road of Remembrance, near the car park, at 3.10pm on Saturday.
The driver of the car with the shattered windscreen, a 33-year-old man from Folkestone, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, after his eye was injured but was able to go home after treatment.
Two other Folkestone men, both 21, have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. They were questioned and have been released on police bail until November 22.
Witnesses, particularly the passers-by near whom the machete landed, are urged to phone DS Stuart Ward at Kent Police on 101, giving reference ZY/25617/12.
