A 23 year old man has appeared in court in connection with an attempt armed robbery at the Kent Mini Mart, Marden, last Wednesday afternoon,

Samuel James Jeffrey, of Holborough Road, Snodland, was at Chatham Magistrates Court on Friday, charged with attempted robbery, taking a vehicle without consent and driving without insurance.

He was remanded in custody until next Monday for a preliminary hearing at Maidstone Crown Court.
