A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempting to murder 17-year-old Carley Furness in a public park last Saturday.
Peter Anscombe, of Millfield Cottages, St Mary Cray, was brought before magistrates in Bromley.
Anscombe, a health care assistant, is also charged with an assault with intent to rob Dawn Hixon, in Stockwell Close, Bromley, four days before the alleged attempted murder of Miss Furness.
Police say Miss Furness, from Orpington, is in a stable condition and "making good progress" following life-saving surgery. She received stab wounds to the neck and stomach as she walked to work through Priory Gardens in Orpington.
In court on Thursday Anscombe spoke only to confirm his identity. He was remanded in custody until a preliminary hearing at the Old Bailey in January.
Police are still appealing for witnesses in connection with the attack on Miss Furness to come forward.
