Man in dock over £53m Securitas raid

A 28-year-old man appeared before magistrates today charged in connection with the £53 million Securitas robbery in Tonbridge in February 2006.

Paul Raymond Allen, of no fixed address but formerly from Chatham, is accused of conspiracy to rob, conspiracy to kidnap and conspiracy to have in his possession a firearm.

He was remanded in custody by Maidstone magistrates to appear at the Old Bailey next Friday, February 8.

Earlier this week, five men received minimum jail terms of between 10 and 15 years for their part in the robbery. Two other men were acquitted at the Old Bailey.
