A man dressed as Dracula needed hospital treatment after he was attacked inside a Dover nightclub.

The 24-year-old local man was partying at the Funky Monkey Club in Bench Street at around 1.20am on Sunday morning, when he was hit and fell to the dance floor.

He was treated at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, for head and facial injuries.

A 21-year-old Dover man was arrested on suspicion of assault on Sunday. He has since been questioned and released on bail until November 29.

Police believe there would have been a number of witnesses to the attack, many of whom would have been wearing Halloween fancy dress at the time.
