A MAN has died after cutting through en electric cable. The tragedy happened at about 7.15pm on Thursday as he was cutting a hedge off Pearsons Green Road at Brenchley, near Tunbridge Wells.

The man was in his 30s and lived in Paddock Wood. It is thought that he was a Portuguese national from the island of Madeira.

He was taken the Kent and Sussex Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, where he died later that evening.

Police are not treating the death as suspicious. An inquest will be held.
