FIRE crews from Maidstone and Medway worked together early on Tuesday morning to free a man who had been struck by a light goods van on the Blue Bell Hill roundabout on the A229 at Chatham.

The pedestrian was quickly freed from beneath the van.

He suffered multiple injuries in the accident, which happened at 5.30am.
