PARAMEDICS and firefighters went to the aid of a man involved in an incident on the towpath of the River Medway, near Aylesford Bridge.

The man, from Larkfield, was taken to Maidstone Hospital complaining of pains in his upper body.

The incident happened at about 2pm on Saturday. Fire crews used a special stretcher to convey the man from the banks of the river to an ambulance.

It is believed that the accident may have involved a motorcycle.
