Man jailed over child sex images

EXCLUSIVE

Taxi driver Ed Harbour was coming up to retirement age - with a wife and family, a lovely home and a good job.

But his perverted lust for disgusting sex images of children has cost him everything... his marriage, family, friends, savings and now his freedom.

The 63-year-old's depraved secret was discovered when he handed over two computers to a 17-year-old IT specialist for repair.

The expert discovered pictures of a naked 11 year old which caused him concern and after consulting an adult friend, he alerted police.

Officers then raided Harbour's home in Athelstan Road in Thanington in April last year and took away another computer hard drive.

Forensic experts discovered more than five hours of videos of children as young as four years old - some depicting bondage.

And they also found other extreme movies involving animal sex, entitled: Rottweiler Rampage and Animal Farm - in which adult women have sex with a black dog.

Mr Rooke said that one three minute movie showed a young teenage girl having sex with a white dog.

Harbour, now of Canterbury Road, Margate, admitted 23 offences of downloading illegal images of children.

Kerry Waite, defending, said: "He has now suffered a significant loss as a result of his involvement in these activities - although he accepts he has brought this upon himself.

"He has lost his good character, forfeited his marriage - because his wife has divorced him and wants nothing to do with him.

"He has lost his family, including his step-children and step-grandchildren. He has lost his employment and he has lost his work contracts.

"He has lost most of his money- and is now very on his own in the world, isolated from his family who want nothing to do with him and most, if not all, his old friends have now disowned him."

He said the 10-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order and having to sign on the Sex Offender's Register would mean he could not look forward to having "a normal relationship" with a woman in the future.

Judge James O'Mahony jailed him for eight months telling him: "You are 63 and have never been convicted of any offence before.

"Now you have pleaded guilty to charges of downloading images, some of which are the most appalling levels of depravity.

"One shudders to think what happened to some of these children."
