WITNESSES are being sought after a 33-year-old man was badly beaten in a street attack by a large gang.

Police say that the victim was set upon by up to 15 people in Millmead Road, Margate. They punched and kicked him in the head, causing a large cut to his mouth, brusing and swelling.

The attackers, who came from the Northumberland Avenue direction, are thought to be aged between 15 and 25. They were wearing baseball caps and tracksuit pants.

The assault happened at about 10pm on Tuesday. Witnesses are asked to contact Thanet police, 01843 231055.
