TWO girls became the victim of a man who indecently exposed himself before leaving them a note containing pornography and suggestions of lewd acts.

The girls, one aged 13 and the other 14, were playing on Palm Bay beach near Cliftonville at around 6pm on Friday, May 6, when a naked man stood up in front of them, put on a pair of shorts and then followed them about.

As he was doing so the girls saw him writing on some paper, which he left on a sewerage outlet pipe with a rock on it. Both girls went to look at the paper and discovered it was pornography and had suggestions of lewd acts written on it.

The girls kept the paper and approached a woman for help. She told them to call the police.

The man was in his late 40s, about 5ft tall, of medium build, and with grey thinning hair, was last seen leaving the area wearing blue jogging bottoms and a dark coat with writing on it.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the man or the incident, and the woman who assisted the girls, to contact Thanet Police on 01843 222033.
