AN 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault on a teenage girl.

Police say the attack on the 16-year-old took place at around 11.30pm last Wednesday in an alleyway known as Stoney Alley, just off Constitution Road, Chatham.

The young man who was arrested has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Det Sgt Steven Taylor said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time, in particular a man who was seen to walk past the couple in the alleyway."
