FIREFIGHTERS saved a man from a burning flat in a Kent town last night.

The man, who is described as middle aged, suffered burns to his body and was rescued via the front door.

Three fire crews were called to Lullingstone Crescent, Sidcup, shortly before 7.30pm.

The man was taken from the gutted property to hospital.

It is not yet known how the blaze started, police continue their investigation.
