Man shot with nail at showground

A 45-year-old man was shot in the leg with a nail while visiting the Kent Show.

The man was walking around the event at the County Showground in Detling last Friday when he felt a pain in his left leg.

When he looked down he saw he had been hit by a cable nail, which left a horse-shoe shaped mark.

Police believe the nail was fired from a high-powered industrial tool, although it is thought this would have been brought onto the site rather than bought at the show.

Anyone with any information about this incident, which took place at about 12.30pm, is asked to contact police on 01622 604180, or Kent Crimsetoppers on 0800 555111.
