by Sam Lennon

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after complaints of a suspected drug dealer operating around Ashford's Norton Knatchbull School.

Cannabis was seized in a raid on an address in the town on Tuesday and one man has been arrested.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police in Ashford have been responding to complaints from local residents and staff at Norton Knatchbull School about a man thought to be dealing drugs in the area."

Offices searched an address in Gordon Close, Ashford. Police say that during the raid a quantity of herbal cannabis which had been packaged in preparation to be supplied was found.

They also found a "substantial" amount of cash and suspected stolen clothing.

The man arrested is in custody at Ashford Police Station.

Police say there is no information drugs were being sold to schoolchildren.
