A man has been arrested in connection with a bomb hoax at a Maidstone supermarket last month.

The man, who is from the Maidstone area, was arrested for an offence under the Malicious Communications Act.

Morrisons supermarket, in Sutton Road, Maidstone had to be evacuated on December 10 after a suspicious package was found in one of the aisles.

Officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate will interview the man today (Sunday).
