A MAN had to be rescued from the wreckage of his car before being taken to hospital after a collision in a Kent town at the weekend.

The incident, which involved a grey Vauxhall Astra and a black Ford Mondeo, took place at around 3.45pm on Saturday at Wested Lane, Swanley.

The man who was trapped in the car suffered cuts, bruises and a possible fracture.

The road was closed while the two vehicles were recovered from the scene. It reopened at 5.50pm.
