Police are continuing to appeal for information after two attempted sexual assaults in Gillingham.

The two incidents took place a short distance apart between 4.45am and 5.15am on Saturday, September 6.

The first took place at the junction of Selbourne Road and Milner Road and the second, in the area of Brooklyn Paddock.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 40 and 50 years old, short dark hair possibly greying, of average build and 5’6” to 5’9” tall. He was wearing denim jeans and a dark coloured, zip-up top, believed to be denim. In the first incident he was described as wearing a baseball cap. He had a scruffy appearance and smelt strongly of alcohol.

Police would like to speak with a possible witness who they believe to have been in the area at the time.

He is described as a white male, around 30 years old, very tall, bald and wearing oval glasses.

He was carrying a rucksack on his back and had both straps over his shoulders and is described as having a smart appearance.

Police are keen to stress that they do not believe this man was involved in either incident in any way.

Officers ask that women remain cautious, particularly when alone, but stress that incidents such as these are infrequent and violent crime levels in Medway remain low.

If anyone can help police with their investigation or believe that they may have witnessed the incidents, contact the major crime department on 01634 884011 or call Kent CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.
