Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler is expecting Hereford to be scrapping for their lives when they visit Priestfield on Tuesday night.

While the Gills have rekindled their play-off push, their midweek visitors will have more worrying thoughts on their minds.

Hereford head to Kent third from bottom in the League 2 table, without a win from their last six games, and Hessenthaler, pictured, said: "They are going to have a siege mentality and you would, because the manager and the coaches are going to want to keep Hereford in the league.

"They are going to make it difficult and fight for everything. We have to match that mentality and hopefully our football will come out on top."

Hessenthaler could name an unchanged side for the fourth match running, despite a hectic schedule.

"It’s difficult to change things when they’ve put in that kind of performance," he said after Saturday’s 2-0 win over Torquay.

Danny Spiller (ankle) is closing in on a return but defender Andy Frampton (ankle) remains out along with Ross Flitney, Matt Fish, Adam Birchall and Barry Fuller.
