Martin Allen's playing career included a League Cup final appearance at Wembley, two promotions to the top-flight and wins over some of the country’s leading sides.
As a manager, he has led sides to the latter stages of major tournaments and made the Football League play-offs three years in a row.
Last season he saved Barnet from relegation on the last day of the season. He did the same at Notts County in 2011.
But for the Gills manager (pictured), the game on Saturday against AFC Wimbledon will be up there alongside anything he has experienced in the game.
He said: "I played in a League Cup final, for QPR, in front of a packed stadium and that was the biggest day. The best individual performance without a doubt was playing Liverpool in the semi-final, second leg, that was the most memorable.
"In the cup final at Wembley (which QPR lost 3-0 against Oxford in 1986), I didn’t play well, I was rubbish.
"I suppose for this Saturday afternoon, it is the biggest game of my career. The cup final has got to run it close, second leg at Liverpool has got to run it close, the year they won the treble but we beat them.
"But this Saturday, to be the champions and me as manager, it’s unbelievable."
