Margate thrown lifeline to save it from taxman

Fans of Margate Football Club can breathe a sigh of relief today - after an 11th hour agreement was reached to safeguard its future.

An agreement has been reached between the club and the taxman, which will see them avoid entering another Company Voluntary Arrangement.

The court case is set to be adjourned today to give Margate time to meet terms of the arrangement.

The club is offering to pay its tax bill in full, once redevelopment gets under way at Hartsdown Park.
