Bromley manager Mark Goldberg has stepped down.

Goldberg (pictured) - who was in his second spell in charge at Hayes Lane - revealed he took the decision before Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Basingstoke in Blue Square Bet South.

He said: "It is with regret that I have to announce that, in the best interests of the club, I left Bromley before the game against Basingstoke Town.

"This was due to an ongoing conflict in-house on how and who should play first team football, which made my position as manager untenable as I wish to be responsible for my own decisions.

"My heart will always be with the club although I hope everyone concerned will respect that I will be looking to stay in football."

Bromley began this season with a club record seven straight league wins but have only won 17 points from 16 games since then and are set to slip out of the play-off places should the chasing pack win games in hand.
