Simeon Jackson netted his first away goal of the season in the 2-1 defeat at Huddersfield on Saturday and boss Mark Stimson was delighted to see the Gills striker end his drought away from Priestfield.
All of Jackson’s previous goals had come on home soil, with five from the penalty spot, but his delicate lob at Huddersfield ended his poor form away from home to take his goal tally to 13.
"It was nice for him to get a goal as he hadn’t scored for a couple of weeks," said Stimson.
"He’s been really miserable and down but you can see the kid has got the quality. It was just unfortunate we didn’t get many other opportunities to put the ball in those areas for him to run onto.
"I’m sure he will score more goals away from home. It was his first and that’s nice for him.
"As long as he gets up those goalscoring charts and we stay in this league we don’t mind where we do it, as long as we get enough points and he gets enough goals."
