Gillingham boss Mark Stimson will meet chairman Paul Scally to discuss his future after they were relegated to League 2 on Saturday.

Mr Scally had previously backed Stimson to be Gills manager for at least another 12 months - but the manner of their final day defeat at Wycombe has left major question marks over who will be in charge at Priestfield in League 2 next season.

"We were going to speak anyway, regarding next year, but now the conversation might be a bit different," said Stimson.

"I'm an honest person and he is an honest man as well, and we'll have an honest chat.

"I'm contracted (for another season) but that will be up to the chairman. He'll make that decision.

"You can see the supporters weren't too happy and there were shouts of my name to be out.

"That's a discussion for me and the chairman to have and I am sure he will make the right decision with what he thinks to take the club forward."
