More quality will be demanded of the Gills players when they return to action by manager Martin Allen.
He and the management addressed the players on Monday to discuss what went wrong last weekend as they lost 2-1 to Port Vale – and with it the prestige of sitting top of League 2.
Allen said: "We watched the DVD and looked through how we played and we had a lot of chances and a lot of opportunities.
"When you are playing against good players, you can’t allow them to have space and we got punished. But the effort and the commitment and the way the team approached the game with their attitude was spot-on.
"The thing that is evident, though, is that we have to play with a bit more quality and that is one area we have to improve on."
