Gillingham go in search of a sixth straight away win on Saturday with boss Martin Allen hailing the team’s collective spirit.
Allen (pictured) believes only as a group can the Gills achieve anything this season and is working hard to make that happen.
"Together we are strong," said Allen, ahead of the trip to Oxford.
"We have some good individuals but individually we won’t be able to do it.
"I know there are people that aren’t happy but you need to talk to them and explain why.
"These players have massive focus, collectively. They are highly driven, not lazy. They have a great attitude.
"With some of these younger players, I’m going to have to try and slow them down somehow but we can’t knock them because it’s that energy, enthusiasm and drive and will to win that is getting us these wins away."
The Gills have won all five of their opening away matches.
The only time the club bettered that was in their 1894-95 Southern League Division 2 campaign – as New Brompton – when they won all seven of their competitive away fixtures, including a 6-0 thrashing of Sheppey United and a ‘Test Match’ play-off win at Swindon.
