MASERATI UK recorded its best month of sales during September as the popularity of the 3200GT Coupe continued to grow. The total of 57 Maserati vehicles registered during September - all of which were 3200GT Coupes - exceeded the previous highest month's total which was recorded in March of last year.
The September sales total represented a seven per cent increase on the same month last year. Registrations of the 3200GT Coupes have continued to increase during 2001 with sales in the first nine months of this year being three per cent ahead of the same period last year. More than 1,500 Maserati cars have now been sold in the UK since 1980, almost half of which were 3200GT Coupes.
The 3200GT is powered by a turbocharged V8 engine producing 370bhp. It is available with a six-speed manual gearbox or with BTR four-speed automatic transmission.
Philip Mills, general manager of Maserati UK, said: "The 3200GT Coupe continues to be the engine of our growth in the UK and it is leading the re-emergence of the Maserati brand in the UK."
