Staff at the Manston Golf Centre were subjected to a frightening ordeal after being confronted by armed masked raiders.

Two men thought to be carrying a machete and a firearm are said to have gone into the popular practice range offices off Manston Road shortly before 10pm on Sunday night.

They demanded cash and made off with a quantity of money, although police are unable to confirm how much was taken.

Staff raised the alarm and told police they had been forced into a storeroom by the robbers.

The centre was open for business as usual this week and a staff member confirmed that "it was a nasty experience but we are all OK thankfully."

The police investigation is continuing.
