Masked robbers raided a supermarket in Gillingham last night.
The Co-op in Twydall Green was targeted by thieves at around 8.50pm.
Two people with their faces covered entered the store and threatened staff. One of them was brandishing a hammer.
The staff were forced to hand over money and cigarettes. It is not known how much was taken. No one was injured in the robbery.
DS Adam Marshall said:"Medway Police have been quick to launch an investigation into this robbery and are currently following a number of lines of inquiry."
