TRAFFIC has been brought to a standstill after two vehicles were in collision on the coastbound carriageway of the M20.

A red Peugeot has spun round to face the wrong way in the outside lane of the motorway at Junction 4 for Leybourne and a white van has turned onto its side.

Massive tailbacks have been caused on both carriageways as debris from the collision has scattered onto the London-bound side.

The collision took place at 2.21pm and police, fire crews and ambulance crews were still on the scene at 3.30pm.

It is not yet known if anybody is hurt, but no fatalities have been reported.
