Masterplan for park moves closer

MAJOR new plans for Crystal Palace Park are set to be unveiled tommorow by the London Development Agency (LDA).

The new designs have been earmarked to provide "more open green space, better access and a revitalised park" by the LDA since it took control of the area from Sport England.

The LDA has been working with Bromley council to finalise a masterplan for the park which could see much of the tarmac replaced by turf, the creation of a central promenade which connects the five surrounding boroughs as well as a new central walkway.

The masterplan will be submitted to the London Borough of Bromley later this month after an exhibition detailing the plan is held at Crystal Palace Station.
