Adaptive rower Alastair McKean will learn his fate next Tuesday when the British Paralympic Association reveal the rowing squad for the Beijing games.
McKean, from Whitstable, looks to be certain of inclusion in the coxed mixed fours team, following the quartet’s World Regatta victory in Poland three weeks ago.
"I hope to be included," the 29-year-old said. "But until the squad is announced nothing is ever certain."
Ahead of the announcement, McKean is in Banyoles, Spain, taking part in a work camp at the 1992 Olympic rowing venue, designed to help the rowers acclimatise to hot conditions.
"We are on an 11-day training camp," McKean said. "It’s been designed for endurance, we are focusing on distance and trying to get our bodies used to the heat.
"So far it’s been quite tough but its a necessary step toward achieving our goals."
