Motorists driving through the Medway Towns faced major delays getting to work this morning.

A broken down army truck blocked part of the Medway Tunnel creating traffic chaos for Strood bound traffic.

The vehicle was parked in the nearside lane of the carriageway with a police car blocking off the lane.

Traffic queued for more than half an mile back towards Gillingham after the vehicle ground to a halt shortly after 7am. Problems continued for around two hours.
