Billboards have gone up at Chatham train station inviting people to 'watch their own heart attack’ through a television event that could help save lives.
The two minute advert will air on ITV1 on Sunday, August 10 at 9.17pm in an ad-break during the latest episode of Midsomer Murders.
The British Heart Foundation is using the advert to raise awareness of heart attack symptoms.
Julie Martin, 39, from Rochester, had a heart attack out of the blue five years ago.
She remembers started feeling very tired one evening before feeling tightness in her chest and a pain travelling down her left arm. Realising it was serious she dialled 999.
She said: “I survived a heart attack because I acted immediately.
"Make sure you tune in so you know how to recognise the signs - these two minutes could save your life.”
Betty McBride, director of policy and communications at the BHF, said: “We’re bringing heart attacks to life in living rooms across the UK because understanding how one could feel could mean the difference between life and death.”
Paul Sutton, chief executive of the south east coast ambulance service, said: “We welcome any efforts that endeavour to save lives by teaching people how to identify a possible heart attack and encouraging them to call 999 more quickly.”
