Young time lord Matthew Sloan will be first in line to meet the next star of Doctor Who.
The St Andrews School pupil, an avid fan of the BBC science fiction series, will be hoping to add David Tennant’s successor to his impressive collection of signed photographs.
Nine-year-old Matthew, from Rochester, has been collecting Doctor Who memorabilia since he was six.
He has dozens of videos and DVDs, posters adorning his bedroom walls, and even his own Tardis in the back garden.
But the most treasured part of his collection is his set of signed photographs which he began gathering two years ago.
Matthew, along with the help of his dad, has managed to track down signed pictures of all 10 of the Doctors, plus around 30 pictures of assistants and monsters from the show.
The pictures cover two walls of his bedroom and Matthew has met stars such as Tom Baker, Paul McGann, Elizabeth Sladen, K9 and Paul Kasey.
His father, Christopher Humm, 57, said: “He has either met the actors or bought the pictures from memorabilia shops. Some of them have cost me a small fortune as Christmas or birthday presents.”
Matthew began watching Doctor Who when it re-appeared on our screens in 2005.
Mr Humm added: “He thought the new Doctor Who was incredible but when I told him I used to watch it when I was little, that was it, he was hooked.
“It is the older doctors who he is more interested in and he has collected around 30 DVDs of the original episodes and watches them over and over again.
“He is really proud of his autograph collection.”
