At an exclusive event in Berlin Ford has pointed towards its future design direction with the stunning Evos concept car, ahead of its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The dramatic four-seat fastback has a pair of gullwing doors, opening upwards to reveal a high-tech interior.
Although the Evos is not a scheduled production car, many of the key design cues will appear on forthcoming models such as the next Mondeo and Fiesta.
Under the dramatic skin the Evos has a plug-in hybrid powertrain which uses cloud-computing technology to optimise efficiency.
This advanced system will become a production reality in the 2013 C-Max Energi, with the ultimate goal of creating a hybrid capable of over 500 miles without a recharge or refuel.
