"You would not believe how much this means to us."
These were the words of a grieving mum after a Kent village community got together to plant a tree in memory of her four-year-old daughter, who died in a tragic accident on New Year's Day.
Paige Brown, from Hawkinge, was strangled by her own hairband while she was playing in her room.
A short ceremony was held outside the village hall on Friday.
Lorraine Ford, Paige's mother, said: "Mother Lorraine Ford said: "It is lovely to know the Hawkinge community have played their part by letting us lay this tree."
