Charlton’s Championship play-off hopes were ended by a late equaliser as Middlesbrough fought back from two goals down on Saturday.
Addicks took the lead at the Riverside inside 45 seconds through Bradley Pritchard (pictured) and they looked set to keep their play-off hopes alive going into the final game of the season when Yann Kermorgant’s volley went in off Boro captain Rhys Williams on 17 minutes.
But Marvin Emnes gave the hosts hope by scoring from Grant Leadbitter’s cross after 76 minutes and substitute Scott McDonald made it 2-2 with a header three minutes from time.
The draw leaves Charlton ninth in the Championship.
Boss Chris Powell said: “Finishing in the top 10 would be a magnificent achievement and I’ll be proud if we do that.”
