Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller believes the forthcoming games at home against Barnet and on the road at Rotherham will give the team room to express themselves.
Hereford and Morecambe have frustrated players and fans at Priestfield with defensive shows in recent weeks but relegation-threatened Barnet and play-off chasing Rotherham can’t afford to sit back.
Spiller (pictured against Morecambe)said: "We definitely play better against teams that want to come at us. I think it is a good thing that Barnet are still looking for points to secure their safety. That will give us the opportunity to open them up.
"They have to come at us and get something. It wouldn’t surprise me if Barnet came and were happy with a point but there are going to be times in the game where they will be impatient and get at us. We can exploit that.
"Rotherham have to come at us because they are trailing at the minute and they want to get into the play-off just as much as we all do. I am sure that will work in our favour."
Saturday's 1-1 scoreline against Morecambe saw Andy Hessenthaler's men held to a draw for the second time in two games at Priestfield by lower-division League 2 opponents and Spiller admits the Gills are enjoying playing on away soil more.
He said: "We are relishing the opportunity to play teams away at the moment. They come at us a bit and that’s gives us the opportunity to go and go and nick some goals like we showed at Lincoln. We can now go and win games away."
