David Wright has returned to train with Championship side Crystal Palace after his initial one month loan deal with Gillingham ended at the weekend.
Midfielder Wright (pictured in action at Oxford) has been an ever-present in the Gills team since moving from Palace, playing in the last seven games for the League 2 table-toppers.
The Gills could extend the loan for another two months if Palace and the player agree but wither way Gills boss Martin Allen is confident his team can cope.
Allen said: "He is back at Crystal Palace now and the chairman and Andy Hessenthaler (director of football) will be chatting and working out to see if we can come to something.
"We would like him to come back, obviously. If we don’t get him to come back that’s not a problem. We will get on with it."
If Wright doesn’t return Allen is set to utilise his own squad to fill the void.
*Young forward Ashley Miller scored on his debut for Ramsgate on Saturday, after joining them on loan. Miller scored the opener for his new team in a 2-1 win over Leatherhead - who had fellow Gills loanee Daren Hawkes playing in goal for them.
