Stuart King netted both goals for Folkestone Invicta as they beat 2-1 Whyteleafe in the FA Cup at the second attempt.
The preliminary round replay at Whyteleafe followed Saturday’2 2-2 draw at the Buzzlines Stadium, thanks to Frankie Chappell’s late equaliser.
King was the hero on a wet night in Surrey with a goal in each half to secure them passage into the first qualifying round.
King’s opener on 29 minutes was cancelled out by a Whyteleafe goal two minutes later but midway through the second half the Invicta striker pounced again. Folkestone dominated the latter stages and could have extended the lead further.
Folkestone will now meet Whitehawk in the next round after they beat Ramsgate in their cup replay at Southwood.
The two sides had played out a goalless draw on Saturday and just one goal settled the tie on Tueday night.
There was end-to-end action in the opening half but early in the second the Hawks scored a decisive goal through Sam Gargan.
Folkestone meet Whitehawk in the next round on September 17.
