Tonbridge Angels halted a mini losing-streak with a win at Hastings United on Tuesday night.
The Angels, who had lost their last two Ryman League games without scoring a goal, bounced back with a 2-1 win.
Goals from former Hastings pair Fraser Logan and Ade Olorunda did the damage in the first half and the hosts were unable to fight their way back in, despite Lewis Perkins’ second half goal.
Victory maintained their third-place position in the Premier Division.
An eighth minute goal from Logan got Angels off to a good start and just before the break they doubled their advantage through Olorunda in first half stoppage time.
Lee Browning, who hit the bar in the first half, was denied a third early in the second half with a good save from the home keeper Seb Barton.
Perkins raced onto a long-ball forward to halve the deficit.
Olorunda’s game ended early when he went off with a facial injury, prompting eight minutes of injury time, but Angels hung on and were relieved when George Porter’s effort came off the upright.
Whitstable’s hopes of avoiding the drop in Division 1 South were given a boost with a 3-2 win over Worthing.
Ian Pulman (pictured above) netted an 88th minute winner for the Oystermen to hand them a valuable three points.
It was Pulman who got Whitstable off to a flyer, with a fifth minute strike, but it was all-square by the break through Terry Dodd.
Pulman had a hand in Whitstable’s second, when he went down in the box on 53 minutes, allowing Lloyd Blackman to convert.
Once more Worthing hit back, this time with 15 minutes left when George Gaskin nodded home, but Pulman was around to nick a later winner.
